Lauren Nadler was named ACAA Coach of the year in a vote of her peer coaches, the league announced Wednesday.
In her third year, Nadler led the Banana Slugs to their best record since 2006 and the second-highest scoring total in program history, despite half the team being freshmen.
One of those Freshmen-Karina Bulli- was named co-Freshman of the Year with Finlandia goalie Sam Linteo. Bulli, a forward from Fallbrook, CA, led UCSC with nine goals.
Midfielder Izel Gutierrez, and defenders Peyton Bell and Tea Lopes were voted onto the First Team. Six Banana Slugs made the Second Team: Bulli, Tomiko Hoshijima, Amelia Streiffer, Nicole Aceves, Julia Hernandez and Alyssa Diaz-Tucker. Defender Tianna Knox was Honorable Mention
Kristen L'Esperance of Finlandia was named the Player of the Year, Daisia Knowles of Finlandia and Harper McVey of Pratt were tabbed as the co-Defensive Players of the Year and Hannah Rose of Mount Mary picked up Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
